If you believe your erroneous assumption that the lack of oversight caused those problems, you would be correct. The facts state otherwise. Over regulation and government policies were the direct cause of those problems. You need to study the federal reserve system, monetary policy, economics and the unintended consequences of legislation to get to the root cause.

So.. three things that were a direct result of the lack of government oversight are what we will see when the government starts to offer free healthcare to people who can't afford health insurance today? Right. That makes a whole lot of sense.

The whole tobacco industry, with the exception of Phillip Morris, opposed this bill.

As for your question - Idiot - someone who feels the need to have government run their lives. Guess that must be you.

Hi! Hi! I hope you will continue your posts. They are clear and interesting, and right on the money regarding liberty! I really like the quotes of the day too.

I'm also wondering if you have heard of FreedomFest, the largest gathering of free minds on liberty, in Las Vegas, July 9-11? It's a truly terrific conference, with real discussions on liberty in a wide variety of topics. Ron Paul will be there with his Campaign for Liberty. Great people too! I think you would love it!

The website is www.freedomfest.com.

Thanks, and keep up the great work!
Best,
Valerie Durham
