Ron Paul didn’t just jump on the bandwagon criticizing the declining dollar.  He’s been leading the parade against our doomed federal monetary policies for years.

Time to listen to Texas Congressman Ron Paul, the lone voice of reason in Congress today who’s got to feel like he’s shouting into a field of cotton with his repeated warnings about the dangers of a collapsing dollar, while the administration goes AWOL on the problem.

The dollar just hit a record intraday low against the euro on reports that consumer confidence levels have dropped to levels not seen since the post-Watergate era. It is down 7% year to date against the Chinese renminbi, it’s weaker than the Japanese yen and the Canadian loonie.

The joke is the greenback is now only stronger than the Mexican pesos and the Zimbabwe dollar, an overstatement for dramatic effect, to be sure.But since hitting a peak in 2002, the dollar has lost about a quarter of its value against a trade weighted basket of currencies.

. . . Congressman Paul rightfully warns us when he says the US government has “systematically undermined” the US dollar by expanding “the money supply at will for financing war or manipulating the economy with little resistance from Congress–while benefiting the special interests that influence government.”

. . . “Empires fail because they run out of money, or more accurately, run out of the ability to spend or inflate,” Congressman Paul warns. “We need to control spending, immediately, before it is too late.”

NEW YORK (AP) — Gov. Eliot Spitzer has told senior advisers that he had been involved in a prostitution ring, The New York Times reported Monday, citing an anonymous top administration official.

I actually find this quite amusing.  Anyone who gets upset by this has been sucked in to the “big government” mindset for far too long.

Prostitution should be legal.  Holier-than-thou politicians should be burned at the stake.

Primary Wrapup

After last night, I am more convinced that Hillary will be the Democratic nominee for President.  Obama needed to deliver a knock-out blow, but failed.  Hillary won enough delegates to ensure a convention fight.  The Clinton’s political power is sufficient to win a convention battle.

Hillary has a couple of choices.  It has been hinted, in the news this morning, that she wouldn’t mind heading up a ticket with Obama as her choice for V.P.  If Obama is not interested, Hillary will come up with a candidate for V.P. that will enable her to wrest enough delegates to win the nomination.  Never under-estimate a Clinton.  Wesley Clark comes to mind as the ideal running mate (from an election perspective) for Hillary.  A strong V.P. would overcome the fact that she is a woman (yes, it does matter to some people).

Obama has a couple of negatives.  One is lack of substance and experience, the other is that people still exist who will not vote for a black president.  I whole heartedly agree that his first negative is completely valid.  I do not subscribe to the race issue, but it is still a reality that needs to be considered.  I don’t think Barack can come up with a V.P. candidate who would overcome both of those negatives.

The bottom line is that a convention battle favors Hillary.

McCain Smear

Much is being made about the alleged affair John McCain allegedly engaged in several years ago.  Some people believe that McCain has some questions to answer. This will haunt him unless he addresses it in a straightforward manner. And even then, this will stick with him until the elections.

McCain has answered the only relevant question, in a straightforward manner, he said he did not have a romantic relationship outside of his marriage.  To speculate otherwise is tantamount to participating in the unfounded smear campaign.

If you’re going to attack McCain, at least base it on substantive issues, not innuendo.

Ron Paul: Who Are These Kooks?

This should be required reading material before casting a ballot in a primary or general election.

So, who are these “kooks” who are sending Ron Paul so much money? And just why are they sending him so much money? I will tell you who they are, because I am one of them. They are rank-and-file, tax-paying citizens who are sick and tired of out-of-control federal spending and deficits. They have had it with an arrogant federal government that runs roughshod over both the Constitution and the liberties of the American people. They are people who have had enough of the IRS, the BATFE, and a thousand other federal agencies that have “erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.” (Declaration of Independence)

They are people who see through the phony, disingenuous federal politicians who only want to fleece the American citizenry for the purpose of building their own personal fortunes. They have had it with the Military-Industrial complex that desires to build international empires at the expense of the blood and sacrifice of the American people. They have had it with David Rockefeller and his Council on Foreign Relations. They have had it with the arrogance of George W. Bush and Nancy Pelosi.

Merry Christmas

My Christmas wish is for peace and prosperity through the restoration of our natural rights.

It is long past the time to reevaluate our present government and to turn the tide of the status quo.  The road we are traveling leads to one destination, and one destination only — Economic Ruin!

There are two options to restore a Constitutional Government that would protect the rights of individuals and provide true opportunities for all.  The first is an outright overthrow, read revolution, of our government.  The second method would be to support the only candidate currently running for President who consistently pursues the end of the current warfare/welfare state in which we live.

The time is now to send a message to Washington, and the rest of the country.  Give yourself the gifts of Freedom and Opportunity this Christmas by studying and supporting Ron Paul for President.

Questionable Presidential Polls

I received the following email today containing some very good questions about the Presidential race.  Saying that the mainstream media has been marginalizing Ron Paul is an understatement.  Read the following observations and draw your own conclusion.  The full text of the email is after the jump.

  • If Huckabee is so well loved, why is no one donating to his campaign? People know these candidates need money to run an effective campaign. I guess Brother Huck’s supporters will pray on it!
  • If Romney is so popular, why does he have to reach into his deep pockets and loan his own campaign $17 MILLION bux? Where are the donations from the little people?
  • How is it John McCain shows higher in polls than Ron Paul, but no one will support him with the cash a candidate needs?
  • If Fred Thompson is so popular as to be right up there with Rudy Julie Annie and Huckabee, why is it Ron Paul beats him in straw polls 32-15? Remember: These are Republican voters.
  • How can Ron Paul continue to win all these straw polls by Republican voters, yet polls show no one would vote for him?
  • How is it Ron Paul continues to raise so much money if no one except the “fringe” element out there supports him?
  • Why does Ron Paul’s web site and his campaign show such popularity and numbers?

A Truism Regarding Nationalized Health Care

Don’t be fooled by Hillary’s doublespeak on health care.  She is trying to portray her plan as being based on ”private” insurance, yet virtually every facet of the program is government mandated.  The only things private in Hillary’s plan are her real thoughts. 

One basic problem with nationalized health care is that it makes medical services seem free. That pushes demand beyond supply. Governments deal with that by limiting what’s available.

There is only one Presidential candidate who would work to lower the cost of health care, while at the same time improving the delivery of services.  That person is Ron Paul.

Obama Not to be Out-Hillaried

Obama is making sure that voters know that Hillary is not the only war-mongering, foreign interventionist candidate running for President. 

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama issued a pointed warning yesterday to Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, saying that as president he would be prepared to order U.S. troops into that country unilaterally if it failed to act on its own against Islamic extremists.

Hillary has a solid record of supporting the type of foreign policy that breeds terrorists who want to attack our country.  In fact, it was her husband’s foreign policy, initiated in 1998, that has led us to the current quagmire in Iraq.

In his most comprehensive statement on terrorism, the senator from Illinois said that the Iraq war has left the United States less safe than it was before the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and that if elected he would seek to withdraw U.S. troops and shift the country’s military focus to threats in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Obama is half right in saying the Iraq war has increased the risk of terrorist attacks on our soil, however, he is failing to connect all the dots.  Taking the war to Pakistan just adds to the fuel we have provided that breeds terrorists. 

What is needed is a withdrawal of our military from the region, coupled with the termination of all foreign aid going to the Middle East.
