I’ve decided that it is time to shed some pounds. I’m strongly considering signing up for the Healthy Living Diet by Ellie Krieger from the Food Network. I love great tasting food and cooking. This diet seems to fit the bill. What this plan does is simplify the planning. You pick your meals and generate weekly menus, recipes and a shopping list. A customized fitness plan and online counseling is also included. The weekly price of $5 is a bargain when you consider the convenience and time savings realized.
Below is a photo of African Peanut Stew. This dish was featured last week in Relish Magazine which made its Buffalo News debut. The recipe typifies the type of food I am looking for in a diet — great flavor and healthy! The recipe is from Cheryl Forberg, chef and nutritionist for NBC’s The Biggest Loser. I will be ordering her cookbook to augment my quest to lose weight.
The stew is easy to prepare and loaded with flavor from cilantro, curry powder, fresh ginger and garlic. The edamame gives this dish a wonderful crunch and texture. Edamame is fresh green soybeans which I found easily with the frozen Asian foods in Tops. You can view a printer-friendly version of the recipe here.
Both of my sons loved this dish. Add a glass of wine and some fresh baked whole grain bread and you will have a meal fit for company.

Hillary Clinton, realizing she has a real fight on her hands for the Democratic nomination for President, is proposing upwards of a $110 billion dollar giveaway of your tax dollars.
If you are a responsible person, pay your taxes and live within your means, Hillary wants to penalize you!
If you make bad financial decisions and don’t mind having a Nanny Government, it’s your lucky day. Did you mortgage more house than you can afford? It’s ok, Hillary is there for you.
BTW, are you wondering what happened to jobs? There’s no money to create them, Hillary is too busy giving away the money that could be used for job growth by the private sector.

The cost of necessities is going up, and families are feeling the squeeze. The article ignores the one huge cost that affects us all and traps people in a dependent, poverty lifestyle — the high cost of government.
The American people are also responsible for the growth in government, however. We have allowed our constitutional republic to deteriorate into a virtually unchecked direct democracy. Today’s political process is nothing more than a street fight between various groups seeking to vote themselves other people’s money. Individual voters tend to support the candidate that promises them the most federal loot in whatever form, rather than the candidate who will uphold the rule of law. As the brilliant writer and professor Thomas Sowell said, “If you have been voting for politicians who promise to give you goodies at someone else’s expense, then you have no right to complain when they take your money and give it to someone else, including themselves.”
