A debate about the Canalside Project, bass pros & CONS, will take place Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at 6:30 PM at the Montante Center at Canisius College.
Lining up on one side will be a vocal lot supporting Larry Quinn, Bass Pro et al. in favor of the revised plan. The opposition will be led by preservationists who have been falsely accused of being obstructionist because of threatened lawsuits over the revised plan. The fact is, Larry Quinn, Bass Pro, et al. are the real obstructionists. They are standing in the way and holding up a plan that had already been approved.
Moreover, the revised plan includes $25 million in taxpayer funded corporate welfare for Bass Pro to build a retail outlet on prime land in the canalside project.
