Is Imus finished?
Yes - 41%
No - 59%
I was one of the 59%, the whole Imus affair is a bunch of politically correct bullshit. I am not defending his remarks, but criticizing the overblown response, that itself fans the flames of racism, by a couple of bloviating Reverends with enough baggage to sink the Queen Elisabeth. Mr. Sharpton (it is hard to use Reverend in front of his name) never even saw a need to apologize for his reprehensible behavior in the Tawana Brawley affair.
A former aide to the Rev. Al Sharpton testified yesterday before the grand jury investigating the case of Tawana Brawley, a day after the aide publicly charged that Mr. Sharpton and two other advisers to Miss Brawley had fabricated the family’s story ”as they went along.” (New York Times, June 18, 1988)

I sent a fairly lengthy email to the members of the Buffalo Common Council voicing my opposition to the proposed Riverwright ethanol project. Following is the reply I received from Michael P. Kearns,
South District Council Member.
Thank you very much for your important feedback regarding the ethanol plant that has been proposed for the City of Buffalo.
I have been contacted by a number of concerned residents, who, like yourself, are strongly in support of this project. After personally visiting a functional ethanol plant in North Dakota, I too am excited by the prospect of bringing this cutting edge industry to our area. The City of Buffalo Planning Board has been named lead agency for SEQRA review of this project. I anxiously await the results of their Environmental Impact Study (EIS) and the completion of this comprehensive environmental review. Despite the enormous potential of this project, we much make sure to perform our due diligence to protect the safety of our City’s residents.
Thank you,
Mickey
With responses like this, one has to wonder if anyone even reads emails from citizens. Follow the jump to read my original letter.

The Duke Lacrosse team students that had been charged with rape, among other charges, are finally and officially innocent, all charges have been dropped.
I wouldn’t say that justice has been done. Mike Nifong was more than just an overly aggressive prosecutor, it appears that he abused his authority for political gain.
I would think that the facts support charging Mike Nifong with violating 42 U.S.C. The three Duke students’ families are out over $3 million for attorneys fees.
Presidential Candidate: U.S. In Danger of Dictatorship
Presidential candidate Ron Paul has warned that the US is now at a crisis point because the people have been so neglectful of protecting their liberties and big government has been so effective in eroding them. He warned that the elite are prepared to concoct events to scare the American people and asserted that the 2008 Presidential election is a contest between the people who care about their freedoms and those who are willing to succumb to the temptations of dictatorship.
Ron Paul On Politics & Economics
It’s almost refreshing to hear about a guy who can tell farmers that he’s against farm subsidies, and still get their support. It’s refreshing to hear a guy who actually is willing to stand up for his beliefs even if it means he won’t get reelected. That’s the kind of guy who I’d like to see achieve an even higher office.
Dark-horse Paul says U.S. going bankrupt
Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, looked more like a UI professor on Wednesday than a presidential-nomination candidate as he stood before a small classroom of supporters in the Main Library. And he’s completely fine with that.
Paul, the representative for the 14th District of Texas, admits he is not a conventional presidential candidate, and he is not going to tell people what they should do.
“I don’t want to run the economy,” he said, jokingly. “I’m not smart enough to run the economy.”
He later said bankruptcy is on the way and the dollar is going to continue to depreciate until foreign countries stop loaning the United States money.
Follow any of the links above for the complete stories. While they may sound extreme, they are not. Ron Paul is the only candidate for President, of any party, who doesn’t kowtow to special interests or sugarcoat issues in an attempt to pander to voters. Ron Paul calls it as it is. Most politicians are more concerned with getting elected, and reelected, instead of following a strong set of principals that would benefit the country as a whole.
