Anthony Orsini and the Independence Party

I have been asked to pass the following message on.  I, myself, am not familiar enough with the situation to comment on it but feel it is important to get the message out for people who may be interested in learning more or supporting this cause.  You can learn more here.

Anthony Orsini has fleeced the Independence Party for years. He has drained the party accounts and refuses to hold any fundraisers in the name of the party. He won’t do this because he then has to report his expenditures to a board that approves or disapproves the expenditure. As a result he has literally lived off the party dole for the last 5-6 years. Well the time has come get rid of him and he is vulnerable. I have contacted a couple friends who are also attorney’s and have begun the process to oust Orsini or at least stop him from excepting money for the Independence Party endorsement. The cost to drag him into court will start at $3,ooo and we need your help. If you can spare $20 please send it to Ford Beckwith, Attn: Oust Orsini Fund, 4316 Highland Pkwy, Blasdell, N.Y. 14219

I Know Hillary is a Socialist . . .

Now I think she is crazy too.   Her position on education is about as unAmerican as one can get.  Her loyalties are to the unions, not the Constitution.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton slammed private-school voucher proposals yesterday, predicting that vouchers would eventually lead to the creation of taxpayer-financed white supremacist academies - or even a government-funded “School of the Jihad.”

Political TV Commercials

The current spate of ads showing elderly citizens bemoaning Spitzer’s health care cuts are a sad reflection of what happens when the people rely on the government to take care of them.  We are now a society funding and bowing to false hopes.

You can take the 2008 Presidential Selector test here.

Britney Spears - The Fascist

This is laughable.  Britney is truly a spoiled brat and needs to grow up.

Singer Britney Spears has been granted a High Court injunction preventing the British press from printing allegations about her recent stay in rehab.

The order is directed at those deemed responsible for leaking details about Ms Spears’ stay at a US clinic.

The pop star “intends to challenge false allegations that have already been published,” a statement from her London lawyers said.

The 25-year-old left a California treatment centre earlier this week.

Ms Spears’ legal representatives are also applying for an additional court order requiring UK publications to disclose the sources of their stories detailing her one-month programme at the Promises clinic in Malibu.

Prices for oral contraceptives, or birth control pills, are doubling and tripling at student health centers, the result of a complex change in the Medicaid rebate law that essentially ends an incentive for drug companies to provide deep discounts to colleges.

“It’s a tremendous problem for our students because not every student has a platinum card,” said Hugh Jessop, executive director of the health center at Indiana University.

There, he said, women are paying about $22 per month for prescriptions that cost $10 a few months ago. “Some of our students have two jobs, have children,” Jessop said. “To increase this by 100 percent or more overnight, which is what happened, is a huge shock to them and to their system.”

This is why we need government out of health care and making less regulations overall.  The law of unintended consequences strikes again.  Virtually every government regulation that is passed to solve a problem creates others.

At least the minimum wage went up, that should keep their sex lives active, unless their employer had to cut jobs to make up for increased labor expenses.

Good old government, you get what you pay for and it usually isn’t very much.

The alternative would be opening the doorway to government censorship.  Let parents do the parenting.  If you don’t know how, don’t let your children near the Internet.

March 22, 2007 (Computerworld) — The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) today welcomed a decision (download PDF) by a federal judge to overturn a 1998 law that made it a crime for Web sites to offer sexually explicit material that could be accessed by minors.

“We think the court’s decision reiterates that the government should not be in the business of censoring the Internet,” said Aden Fine, senior staff attorney at the ACLU. “In the name of protecting children from harmful material, [the law] would have stopped adults from receiving a great deal of speech that is constitutionally protected. The court once again made it clear that Congress cannot do that.”

A Preview of National Health Care

The Walter Reed Army Medical Center scandal provides an important lesson for all to learn.  It convincingly demonstrates what happens when the government provides health care.

Why people want a Nationalized Health Care system is beyond reason.

It’s Time to Declare War on the Nanny State

You’re not eating that! Put the phone down! Pull those earbuds out! And put down that bat; you’ll hurt someone!
Lawmakers around the country are passing or proposing laws to regulate the grease your doughnuts are fried in, the calls you make from the road, what you listen to when you cross the street, even the bat your kid hits a baseball with.

Those of us who do not value freedom use the excuse that government passes these laws for our own good.  That makes us no different than pets of the State.  You can control where your dog or cat goes, what they eat; even where they crap.  We are not dogs, we are not cats.

We are human beings.  Humans are distinguished from the rest of the animal world by the ability to reason.  It is because of this distinction that we have inalienable rights.  When the State takes these rights away we are stripped of our humanity and relegated to the hierarchy of dogs, cats and turtles.

This is the kind of anarchist who is looking out for our rights.

In the last two years, everyone flying on a commercial airline has stepped up to an airline’s ticket counter and heard the agent recite a familiar litany. The monologue goes, “has your bag been unattended; have you accepted gifts from a stranger; can I see your identification please?” The traveler docilely murmurs answers, and produces a driver’s license or some equivalent.

As a die-hard Constitutionalist, I believe that we still have an absolute, unfettered, God-given right to travel from point A to point B without permission from the state — in the air, as well as on land. This Nazi procedure of “your papers, please” has never been appropriate for our country. I have had occasion to travel a good deal in the last several months, and on those trips I decided to research and test this issue about the necessity for producing identification. I have talked with agents, and their supervisors, of several major airlines in cities across America, and have gradually pieced together a rather complete picture of the real legal situation regarding our right to travel.

Next, I tested this finding with several airlines. When asked for identification, I produced only my Sam’s Club card, or my travel agent’s ID card, or a Costco card. These are all picture ID’s, but they are privately issued, and do not even have a signature on them. The airline agents just freaked out, and demanded to see some state-issued ID. They routinely told me that “it was federal law!” The government absolutely required me to cough up an “official” ID card, without which the agent couldn’t even THINK of letting me on the plane.
