I have an old menu from a restaurant named Casa Marina.  It was located at 201 Main Street, Niagara Falls, New York.  If anyone has any information about this restaurant, I would be happy to learn more about it.

You can click on the following menu shots for a larger view.  The prices and selection reveal not only cheaper prices, but a simpler time to live.

  • Spaghetti w/ Meatballs 50¢
  • Grilled T-Bone Steak Dinner $2.00
  • Egg Salad Sandwich 25¢

The wine selection brings back some memories.  You won’t find any Cabernets, Rieslings, Merlots or Chardonnays on this list.

  • Muscatel 25¢
  • Mogen David 25¢ - I’m sure a few of you are thinking, holy crap!, I haven’t heard Mogen David mentioned in a long time!

Browse the menus for some more surprises.

Peace - at last

No, I’m not talking about the Middle East.  Peace has finally been reached in the long running battle between Apple Records (Apple Corps LTD) and Apple, Inc., maker of the iPod.

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingThe two companies reached a mutual agreement that gives Apple, Inc. ownership of the name and logo and it also gives Apple Records use of the name and logo.

Speculation is that the Beatles received between $50 and $100 million from Apple, Inc. for the ownership rights.

As a result of the deal, it is likely that the Beatles’ music will be available for download soon from iTunes and other download sites.  Lawsuits between the two companies have been ongoing since 1978.

Apple Corps was founded by the Fab Four in 1968 and is still owned by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, the widow of John Lennon and the estate of George Harrison.

The Beatles’ company, whose corporate logo is a giant green Granny Smith apple, first sued what was until last month Apple Computer Inc. for trademark infringement in 1978. The computer maker agreed in 1981 to pay $80,000 and never enter the music business.
