I recently had dinner with friends at Buffalo Barbecue and Brew. The food was delicious. Before deciding on dinner, the choice of beverage must be made. This place has a wonderful selection of beer and ale on tap. I opted for a pint of the Flying Bison Scotch Ale. It was full bodied, a bit dark and had a nice finish. This brew had the moxie to stand up to the food that was to follow.
I narrowed down my dinner choices to the brisket platter and the pork platter. After consulting with our friendly and knowledgeable waitress, I decided on the brisket platter. I also relied on the waitress to help my pick the 2 sides to accompany the brisket.
The brisket was plentiful, flavorful and tender. The taste told you that it was lovingly smoked to perfection. The mac’n'cheese definitely was not your typical kraft variety. It was homemade with the perfect amount of zip befitting a restaurant that specializes in barbecue. The chili was loaded with flavor. I hesitate to call it spicy because I don’t want to scare off people who avoid spicy foods. It had a good amount of heat without being overly hot and was also loaded with flavorful spices. There were bits and chunks of the brisket adding to this terrific chili. The platter was also adorned with a nice, fresh corn muffin.
I struggled to finish the whole meal, but I managed to do so. Even though I was stuffed, I ordered some dessert. The dessert offerings were the perfect size. I ordered a baby eggnog brulee. It was the perfect size to satisfy my sweet tooth without making me feel like a complete glutton. The price of the desserts correspond with the size also and won’t break your budget. The waitress, thankfully, inquired if any of us wanted coffee before we reached the dessert stage and brewed a fresh batch. The food and the service here was really good and I will definitely be back there soon.

That statistic is eye opening and disgusting. Our criminal justice system is broke and ruining the lives of people constantly.
HT Free New York Blog for posting the article.
The United States has a large number of wrongfully convicted. There are many reasons for this. One is that the US has the largest percentage of its citizens imprisoned of all countries in the world, including China. One of every 32 US adults is behind bars, on probation or on parole. Given a wrongful conviction rate, the larger the percentage of citizens in jails, the greater the number of wrongfully convicted.
According to the International Center for Prison Studies at King’s College in London, the US has 700,000 more of its citizens incarcerated than China, a country with a population four to five times larger than that of the US, and 1,330,000 more people in prison than crime-ridden Russia. The US has 5% of the world’s population and 25% of the world’s prisoners. The American incarceration rate is seven times higher than that of European countries. Either America is the land of criminals, or something is seriously wrong with the criminal justice (sic) system in “the land of the free.”

Remember, FDA employees are serious about fear. We pay these people to panic about an iota of rodent hair in our chili, even when the recipe calls for it. FDA employees are first-class agonizers, world champions at losing sleep. When Meryl Streep got hysterical about Alar, they actually checked the apples instead of Meryl’s head.
