The Buffalo Flickr group had its monthly meetup today at SPOT Coffee on Elmwood. It was a beautiful, sunny day and a good excuse to get myself moving earlier than usual on a Sunday morning. Being somewhat of a coffee purist, I skipped the fancy lattes and cappuccinos and ordered a mucho Papua New Guinea on wheels. We did a Holiday Card Swap and enclosed a 4″x6″ print of our favorite photo from the past year.

The meetups are always a nice social event and frequently a source of some good photography tips and info. Quite a few of my fellow bloggers belong to this group. You guys, and gals, should should stop by if possible. The place and date is always posted in the discuss thread for the group. Today we had a surprise visitor, a person of local fame with deep activist roots who is always looking for ways to improve our city. David, from Fix Buffalo Today, provided some interesting conversation and ideas for future photo excursions.

Below are a couple of photos I shot at SPOT today.
