I have stumbled across a website that is a veritable historical audio extravaganza for fans of Rock’n'Roll. You can experience streaming live recordings of the legendary concerts of rock. There are hundreds to choose from. Best of all, it is free. Check it out soon, naturally there are some pending legal actions that may shut this site down or impose a user fee.
Among the concert venues featured are the Fillmore East and the Fillmore West. As I’m writing this I’m listening to The Allman Brothers Band live at the Fillmore East. This was recorded on June 27, 1971 and has special significance because it was the last set, out of 8 bands, to ever be performed at the legendary Fillmore East.
Check out the music, and much more at Wolfgang’s Vault. These recordings are original tapes recorded on the soundboard of the concerts. This is a partial list of the rock groups/performers that you can listen to:
The Allman Brothers The Band Cream The Doors Bob Dylan
The Eagles Grateful Dead Guns N’ Roses Jimi Hendrix
Led Zeppelin Madonna Bob Marley Metallica Nirvana
Pearl Jam Tom Petty Pink Floyd The Rolling Stones Santana
Bruce Springsteen U2 Van Halen The Who Neil Young Frank Zappa
