I hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving tomorrow, eats too much and spends quality time with relatives and friends. I will be going to my brother and sister-in-law’s place out in Bennington. They always make way too much food, it wouldn’t be Thanksgiving otherwise. All of us attending also like to contribute. I like to make something a bit different each year. Of course, I still have to call my sister to see which one of us is making the eggnog this year. We have a specific recipe, based on real eggs and a generous amount of gold rum, that one of us traditionally makes.
This year I am going to make a spinach-artichoke dip, a cranberry-orange relish w/cointreau and a black forest delight cake. I found the cake recipe in the latest edition of Kraft food & family magazine. I am not a big fan of baking, however the recipes from Kraft are usually very good and are relatively easy to make. Below is cake with the recipe. Click this link for a large version that makes the recipe easy to read.

Saturday night at Nietzsche’s will be the place to be.
Your favorite bands have made it through twelve weeks of intense balloting on the Artvoice website, and now they need you to come out and show your support at the first ever Artvoice BOOM! Bash. The remaining four finalists from Artvoice’s Battle Of Original Music will throw down at Nietzsche’s this Saturday, November 25. One measly dollar gets you in the door and gets you a ballot. Here’s the lineup:

10:50-11:30 Dali’s Ghost
11:50-12:30 Kendall
12:50- 1:30 50 AMp Fuse
The winner receives a two-day recording package at Robby Takac’s Trackmaster Recording Studios and market-ready CDs of that recording courtesy of ESP CD and DVD Manufacturing. Runners-up will split the money collected at the door.
So come on down to Nietzsche’s this Saturday, November 25 and support the local music scene!
