Movie Review - The Guardian

Last night I attended an advanced screening of The Guardian.  The movie is based on the actions of Coast Guard rescue swimmers.  Kevin Costner plays the old master and Ashton Kutcher is the brash newbie looking to one-up the master.

The basic premise has been done many times.  This version is done well enough to keep you interested throughout the approximately 2 hour long movie.  The formulatic mixture of action, drama and romance varies enough to sustain interest in the movie.  The action scenes merit seeing the movie on the big screen.

Overall, I will recommend seeing this one.  You won’t walk out thinking “wow, that’s one of the best movies I’ve ever seen,” but you won’t walk out disappointed either.  The movie opens to the public next Friday, September 29.
