Sabers Ticket Sales on Fire

The team sold more than 22,000 tickets for future games during the Sabres’ open practice, establishing a new mark for single, regular season sales.

As of Monday morning, the Sabres have sold more than 610,000 tickets — including season ticket packages and individual game ducats. Last season, the Sabres sold 691,699 tickets, but Dan DiPofi, the team’s chief operating officer, expects to break that mark before the Oct. 6 home opener.

Tom Golisano’s accomplishments as a businessman are very impressive.  It is a shame that he wouldn’t consider another run for the top job in Albany.  Perhaps with a bit of public pressure,we could convince him to run for Erie County Executive.  We would have someone with the experience necessary for a Professional County Manager without having to overcome the roadblocks put up by Lynn Marinelli, et al.  It would be the perfect end-around play to counter the politics of the status quo.
