Elections are looming, neocon stock is down to a very low level and the Democrats could regain the House. Along comes Bush and his bag of dirty tricks, lies and deception.
He reveals the details of secret CIA torture camps that held the 14 most dangerous captured Al Qaeda terrorists. The President is not a dummy in the usual sense, he knows the torture camps were illegal and announces they are being closed. I guess he believes he can have his cake and eat it too.
Claims are being thrown about, like pussy willows on dingus day, that 12 serious terrorist plots were broken up due to information gleaned in the dungeons of the CIA. Of course the plot to destroy the Library Tower in Los Angeles was mentioned. This is the second time Bush as trotted out this canard to bolster his dismal ratings.
The only facts to come out of this latest revelation is that the CIA illegally tortured prisoners and Bush repeatedly lied about it. We know Bush lied to justify his act of aggression against Iraq. Nothing he has told us has come close to being believable beyond a reasonable doubt.
Two months until election day, I wonder what surprise Bush has for us next?

After taking the photos of the Blue Cross building, I noticed that the potential for a spectacular sunset was pretty good. I zipped over to the Erie Basin Marina, where I managed to get some shots before the sun disappeared. Below are my 2 favorites.

After the marina I headed to Target to pick up a few things I needed. When I exited the store the full moon was hanging low in the sky begging for a picture. The Target parking lot is not the best scenery in the world so I headed over to the Hoyt Lake area. Below are 3 pictures. I wish I had been there about 15 minutes sooner, the lighting and position of the moon would have been better. Oh well, you work with the conditions at hand.

After being holed up for the past few days with a miserable cold, I couldn’t stand it any longer and had to get out. I needed to do some quick shopping and figured I would mix that with shooting some photos.
Below is a shot I took on May 6 showing construction next to the Waterfront Elementary School.

I shot a picture from the same spot tonight. I was curious if it was going to be just a parking lot or if something else was planned.

While I was down in that are I shot a few pictures of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Headquarters that is being built.
It is manifestly contrary to the interest of the consumers to prevent the most efficient entrepreneurs from expanding the sphere of their activities up to the limit to which the public approves of their conduct of business by buying their products. Here again, the issue is who should be supreme, the consumers or the government? In the unhampered market the behavior of consumers, their buying or abstention from buying, ultimately determines each individual’s income and wealth. Should one vest in the government the power to overrule the consumer’s choices?
