The Small Ferris Wheel Whatever you call it, I went there today. It was a beautiful day, perfect for walking around. Caroline had some passes for the fair, thank you for thinking of me. I always have a good time with Caroline and her better half Ed. Sometimes it gets kind of comical when the three of us are running around with our camera equipment. One girl stopped me tonight and asked what we were taking pictures of. D’oh, “the fair” was my answer. Her eyes just kind of glazed over and her boyfriend gave me a look like “he’s a smart-ass”, I then added that photography is a hobby.

Dinner Time We did the usual stuff, checking out animals, walking around the midway, listened to some good music by Willie & the Reinhardts and stopped for a drink in the Carousel Room to relax for a bit. The cow at the right seemed a bit self conscious while eating, not enough to stop it from continuing.

Explosion At the end of the night we decided to grab a bite to eat. We armed ourselves with Italian Sausage (mineo & sapio’s w/peppers and onions, of course), french fries and Caroline procured a giant bag of Kettle Korn. We didn’t realize that where we settled down to eat was only about 50 feet from where the fireworks were set off. The first one that exploded directly overhead nearly scared the crap out of me and out of the corner of my eye it looked like Ed had about the same reaction. Caroline was getting her sausage at the time so I don’t know if she was startled or not. Anyway, the fireworks show was really good, I’d rate it among the best I’ve seen and having them go off directly over us was da bomb. We were hit by falling debris and had to watch for occasional pieces that were still lit. There were a few fireman behind us to take care of any hot stuff landing on the on canopies and stands around us. Below is a slide-show from the day, check back, I will probably add some more shots to it. Enjoy!
