It was a bit cool today but the sun was shining on the art festival. If I had a choice, I would take today’s weather over the oppressive heat we’ve had to deal with during past festivals. The crowds were out in full force.

This is one of my favorite events of the year. It isn’t just about art, it is about people too. The Music is Art fest is growing by leaps and bounds and stretches all the way up Franklin from Allen to North. I’m glad the initial in-fighting between the 2 groups is over. Virtually every weekend in the summer has some kind of event happening. The two groups co-exist and compliment each other nicely. Everybody wins with the increased variety available.
I only made it for the last 2 1/2 hours today and hope to return tomorrow for more of the sights. Below is a slide-show of today’s visit. You can click on any picture and follow a link to a larger version.

Rus Thompson rightfully urges people to email their legislators to uphold the veto of this misguided law.
If you live in Erie County, Now is the time to let your representatives know that we “The People” do not want this law to dictate construction projects.
This Law clearly locks out non union companies, forces us to pay for the training of people in the trades. I am in the trades and have learned everything I know on my own. No one paid for my training. What about all the people that have gone to B.O.C.E.S. and other construction related schools? Does this mean that their training is worthless in the eyes of the unions? Apparently so.
Dan Booty the union boss says, Giambra’s veto is based on politics? What are you all about? The people that the unions supported are now in control of the legislature. Hundreds of thousands of union dues are used in this area to buy political influence . . .
Email your legislators and tell them, don’t ask, tell them not to override the veto, this piece of legislation must die.
