Anxiously I awaited the arrival of the DHL delivery truck. It was scheduled to arrive between 8am and Noon. Ha! I got up early for nothing, the delivery did not arrive until 1pm. Oh well. The afternoon dragged on forever as I waited 5 hours for the batteries to complete the initial charge. Then it was time to venture out and get a feel for the camera. Following are a few of the pics I took.

Some people go all out decorating for the holidays.

This is a view of downtown from Shanghai Red’s parking lot.

I was on Niagara when I took this shot.
I love the low-light exposures but I do need to get a tripod. Click on any pic to view different sizes.

Buffalo News - Folks finally catching on to casino myths
The mayor did an about-face this week, saying there is “a strong possibility” that a downtown casino “will have negative impacts on our local economy.”
Skeptics say it’s a ploy to leverage jobs and concessions from the Senecas. I don’t think so. I think it shows he’s flexible when faced with the facts and not too proud to shift for the good of the city.
Flexible when faced with the facts and not too proud to shift? Come on Donn, you give the Mayor far too much credit. He was a State Senator, supposedly has an IQ higher than a rock, and I believe he possess the ability to read. The studies on the effects of gambling on the community have been around for years. The pittance the City would receive compared to the State has been known since day 1. Didn’t Byron have an obligation while representing this area to study the issue? He is not shifting for the good of the city; he is shifting because public opinion is shifting, demonstrating once again that he is a politician first, and representative of the people second.
